Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaOriginal setting, abstract vision of a foreigner? How are you G.? 27 Dec 2007 9:48am @Lorraine: Thank you, L., you're always so nice... I'd say more metaphorical than abstract (but I think I get what you mean). I suppose I'm OK. How about you, dear L.? Enjoying the season? I've seen you're making the most of it! n from SwedenIt seems like that the raindrops cannot reach the window. They are locked out. Your photos are poetry. Prose poetry. "... and it rained all night and then all day It is an intriguing photo. It doesn't give much away (and I like that). A very good macro that seems to be built up by layers of materials... or maybe just shadows... 27 Dec 2007 10:07am @n: The nicest of comments, N. Thank you, so, so much. (It might work as a soundtrack.) The "fore" and the "shadows," and then the foreshadowing, are what really matters. "Layered," you're right, but it's an optical illusion. (No manipulation.) It must be the shadows. Ella from Stuttgart, GermanyThis image is wonderfully moody. And I agree: There is a poetic feel to it. 28 Dec 2007 12:05pm @Ella: Thanks for your nice comment, Ella. Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaI'll confess g, that this year, it hit me in a big way, that Christmas is no longer Christmas, is this a bad thing to say? It's been said until we mutter ah 'so commercial' so often it has lost its strength. But it is, family togetherness is good, but you should have that often not once. It's a business holidays more a Winter Solstice, and let's face it no one can afford it. But even with all that, I could still enjoy it iff maybe, just maybe, Jesus was actually born on this day. But he wasn't, not according to visionaries, not according to highly spiritual people, not according to Historians not according to the Bible, not according to anyone. At Best, His Birth, which I believe in 'cause without His Love whatever He left behind, we'd have destroyed each other - but I digress LOL - is said to have occurred end of summer, beginning of fall...Having said that: Happy New Year ;) Wow that was long enough for a post. I think I'll use on my Word Blog tomorrow, yes I'll do that 28 Dec 2007 12:21pm @Lorraine: You digress and I get lost, dear L. (Kidding.) I'll stop by your wordblog to see if you've kept rambling on there like a mad, mad woman :) (NB: My comment was due to the profusion of 'Christmassy' colors and details in your latest photos. I see you've already overcome that phase.) (Kidding again.) Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaHey, happy new year. I fear I've always been a foreigner. And this photo seems to capture that feeling of being outside, viewing things through reflections. 2 Jan 2008 9:03pm @Damon Schreiber: Happy new year to you too, Damon. And thanks for your comment. Interesting that you see this as being outside, because I was inside... And all the same I was a foreigner all the time. dee from Innsbruck, AustriaI like the contrast between the hard and soft shapes. Happy New Year! 3 Jan 2008 9:32am @dee: You have a very good eye, Dee. Thank you for stopping by. Happy 2008 for you too! HorseRotorVator from Newton, United StatesWow, your pictures really draw dreams and visions out of me. Make me think. Super cool! :) 4 Jan 2008 5:16pm @HorseRotorVator: Oh, what a nice thing to say, HRV... Thanks a lot. |
